I’ve been putting this off for a while because my family wanted to keep it kind of secret, but my mom asked me to book a benefit show for my brother today. So everyone is going to have to find out sooner or later.
Yesterday my 16-year old brother Kyle was diagnosed with cancer. He doesn’t have pneumonia like the doctors thought it was. He has T-Cell leukemia.
Yesterday I visited him at the hospital, which was probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my whole life. My brother never gets sick, he never even gets colds. He’s going to be in the hospital for a while, he starts chemo this week. This is all just really unfair and makes me really angry. He shouldn’t be worrying about how he’s going to lose all of his hair in a couple weeks, he shouldn’t be worrying about anything, he should be out skateboarding somewhere or flirting with girls. This is WRONG and not fair. It doesn’t feel real.
At least when I asked him if he was scared he said “Not at all.” I can tell that he’s literally not afraid. He told me he isn’t worried or concerned and that he’s pretty sure he’ll be fine. He’s a strong kid. I’m just scared for him. My brother is my best friend.
So I’ll keep you guys updated on the show, but I’ll be booking a benefit show to raise money for his hospital bills, because lord knows we have literally NO money considering my mom just lost her job…and I got hit by a drunk driver a few days ago TOTALING my car.
If anyone is interested in helping or has any ideas for raising money, please let me know. Thanks.
